Guiding you towards growth and emotional wellbeing.

Your Counselling offers a safe space at The Family Compass Centre in Barnstaple

People seek counselling for many different reasons. Whether to process past experiences, navigate current challenges, or foster personal growth and self-awareness.

Often, it can feel like no one is truly listening, or we might dismiss our own struggles as too big or too small to warrant help. You might be facing overwhelming workplace stress or navigating emotional difficulties in your personal relationships. Whatever you are experiencing, I offer a safe, confidential space where you can process your thoughts and feelings alongside a qualified, MBACP-registered counsellor.

Safety and support at all times

Your Journey Counselling offers tailored support, no matter how hard your journey to better wellbeing is.

Emotional Support

Our sessions together will be your safe space for us to confidentially work together one to one, working within the present to process what you wish to bring to therapy. The sessions will be at your pace and the material that you bring will be held in a safe and confidential way.

Your Journey Counselling offers a safe and confidential space without judgement.

Tailored around you

No issue that you wish to bring is too big or too small. I attend regular supervision and my training and previous experience means you can bring whatever you wish to and know that you have the freedom to go where the session takes us.

Whatever your pathway, Your Journey is here to help you navigate that path.

Regular Sessions

I provide regular weekly sessions to enable consistency. This provides the continuity needed for meaningful personal growth. Therapy can sometimes bring up painful experiences and difficult emotions. I endeavour to consistently hold a safe, reliable space for you as you process these feelings.

Therapeutic Approaches

Psychodynamic Counselling

Psychodynamic counselling helps you explore how your past experiences, early relationships, and hidden emotional patterns shape how you feel and behave today. By bringing these unconscious dynamics to light, we work together to understand the root causes of your struggles rather than just managing the symptoms.

Because diving into deep-seated emotions can feel daunting, this work is anchored in a secure, consistent, and strictly confidential framework. We will move entirely at your pace, using the safe space of the therapeutic relationship to process vulnerable feelings and gently unpack old cycles, giving you the clarity to make conscious, lasting changes in your life.

Humanistic Counselling

Rooted in the pioneering work of psychologist Carl Rogers, Humanistic counselling is built on the belief that you naturally possess the capacity to grow, heal, and thrive. Rather than analyzing your past or treating a diagnosis, this approach focuses on the present, helping you cultivate a deeply honest and authentic relationship with yourself.

True emotional growth requires absolute safety, which is why our sessions are grounded in unconditional acceptance, genuine empathy, and zero judgment. By creating a warm, collaborative space where you feel truly heard and valued exactly as you are, you can safely explore your feelings, discover your inner strengths, and confidently step into your most authentic life.

Art Therapy

In my own life, I have always loved turning to art as a form of mindfulness and a way to quiet a busy mind, slow down, and connect with the present moment. I bring this same appreciation for creativity into my therapeutic work.

Having worked extensively with adolescents, young people, and neurodivergent individuals, I know firsthand that deep emotions can sometimes be incredibly difficult to articulate verbally. Because of this, I love incorporating art into our sessions as a gentle, creative alternative to traditional talk therapy. For clients who struggle to find the right words, art therapy offers a creative pathway to expression, allowing your feelings to be seen, processed, and understood without the pressure of needing to speak them aloud.
